iDeal is a method of online payments using a system of online banking to facilitate transactions on the Internet. The iDeal is being used in The Netherlands and was launched in the year 2005. Merchants are offered a safe means of receiving payments for online transactions when they sell their products and services while the buyers are able to make the payments in the standard online banking format.

Using iDeal while shopping online is fairly easy. Once you have zeroed in on a product you want to purchase you click on the buy option and then choose the iDeal tab/ button. Once this has been opened you choose your bank (the bank you have an account with). This step will take you to the login page of your bank’s online banking facility. Once you have signed into your account you can access the transaction page where you will fill in the requisite information such as the account number. Using your 2FA token you will digitally authorize the transaction following which the bank will put it into action. The payment money is then deducted from your account while the merchant receives a notification that the payment is under way.
